System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian Shares New Band with Member of Left to Suffer

Metal

New band alert, and System of a Down members doing absolutely anything alert. SOAD bassist Shavo Odadjian just announced he is starting a new band with vocalist Taylor Barber of Atlanta nu-deathcore unit Left To Suffer, guitarist Alejandro Aranda, and drummer Josh Johnson.

The band shared some behind-the-scenes shots on Instagram yesterday that give a preview of what’s to come, along with a cryptic message about the new band, allegedly called Project Shavo.

“PROJECT SHAVO is officially underway!” shares Odadjian on Instagram. “16 songs in, recording vocals now. Very happy, very grateful! Meet the team. @taylorsuffers @morgothbeatz @scarypoolparty @joshstillsux.”

Barber also adds:

“I can’t believe I get to say this on the internet rn… but I am the singer of PROJECT SHAVO! I am so excited to show you this music, and this team is so sick to work with and an absolute pleasure to be around. Life is amazing, and I am so pumped!!”

We don’t have any more specifics as to what this band will sound like or what to expect, but if the original bands that comprise this supergroup are any indication, it’s going to be brutal, weird, and definitely worth checking out.
