Scissorfight to Play Two More Shows and Then Call It Quits Again

Metal

After returning as an active band nearly a decade ago, the southern stoner metal outfit from New England known as Scissorfight is once again planning to hang it up after a couple final shows. And this time it could be for good (though hopefully it isn’t).

According to the band, they’d planned on playing one final show with Murcielago and Motomags on September 20 at The Shaskeen in Manchester, New Hampshire. When those tickets sold out in less than hour, they went back to the drawing board and booked a second date for September 19 at Stone Church in New Market, New Hampshire with support from Tree and Proelium.

For those that may not be aware, Scissorfight was originally founded in 1995 and continued as a band until they hung it up in 2006. During that time they put out six full-length records and a smattering of EPs and splits along the way. They eventually came back as a unit in 2016 and have been active ever since, releasing Doomus Abruptus, Vol. 1 in 2019.

With their second end in sight, the band released a statement:

“Hello peoples… don’t be sad! It’s all good. It’s time to end this chapter of the legendary speed doom and construction metal band Scissorfight. We’ve had an amazing run… come hear the roar and the sweet vibes of a scissorfight show in the fall at the Shaskeen… ain’t nuthin like it!

“Jarvis has moved to Colorado to be near his kids and grandkids and who can blame him? So it’s time to move on and leave a legacy of mountain metal…”

Tickets for the September 19 show will go on sale tomorrow, July 8 at noon, so be sure to check out the ticket page when that time comes.
