Ryan Leslie Returns With New Song ‘Run It Back’

R&B

Ryan Leslie makes his return to the musical spotlight with “Run It Back,” his first single in four years.

“Run It Back,” built on retro beeps and blips, hears Leslie’s pleas to make it through the not-so-good times in a relationship.

“Baby, I never meant to do you like that / Maybe we should run it back / We did some things I know we probably regret / So maybe we should run it back,” he sings in the chorus.

“Run It Back” was first previewed on Leslie’s social media accounts this summer, with a link to mynewalbum.com in the caption. It marks his first new music since his EP Fleurier Flows, released in 2019.

Fleurier Flows is a collection of four tracks and was independently released on Leslie’s Black Phoenix Enterprises label.

Leslie hasn’t released a full-length album since his sixth and final album, MZRT (The Magnificently Zealous Renegade Takeover).

The 2015 album was designed as a lifetime concept album, with fans receiving a new song every month until Leslie retires from the music industry.

Leslie has not yet revealed the title or release date of his highly anticipated album, although he has directed fans to a website.

To coincide with his return, Leslie will embark on his You Know My Speed Tour, which will visit the U.K. and Europe.

Powered by Superphone and Latfro, the 10-date stretch will begin March 21, 2024, at O2 Academy Islington in London and conclude April 4 at Cabaret Sauvage in Paris.

In other news, Leslie is raising awareness about financial education through WealthPlan Elite, his mentorship program for young professionals, music managers, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
