Rotimi Announces New Album ‘In My Heart, In My Veins,’ Shares First Single

Rotimi is gearing up to release his first album in three years.

The singer-songwriter has announced his new album, In My Heart, In My Veins, will release Nov. 1 via FrontRo Music Group/EMPIRE.

According to press materials, the album is described as a “genre-spanning experience that solidifies Rotimi’s position as a versatile and innovative force in the music industry.”

The first half of In My Heart, In My Veins will consist of R&B-leaning songs, and the second half will explore afrobeats. 

Rotimi’s album announcement is paired with the release of the lead single, “ILMSY (Moves),” an afrobeats groove that hears Rotimi praising his woman. 

“I love me some you / All the little things you do. / All them little words you choose / All the ways you move / Everything that makes you, you,” he sings in the chorus.

“‘I Love Me Some You (ILMSY)’ is the perfect balance of addictive melody and rhythm,” says Rotimi. “This single is a reflection of the blender of cultures and sounds that I represent. Truly can’t wait for fans to get this song and just know the album is around the corner.”

In My Heart, In My Veins is the follow-up to Rotimi’s 2021 debut album, All or NothingThe album included the singles “Love Somebody,” “What To Do,” “Decide,” “Don’t You Ever” and “I Do.” The latter song became a top 10 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in June 2022. 

Aside from music, Rotimi continues to make strides in film and television. The former Power actor was recently cast for a recurring role in the upcoming seventh season of The Chi.

Per Deadline, “Rotimi plays Charles, Pastor Ezekiel’s (Daniel J. Watts) former assistant who returns to the church for a second chance.”
