“Known for her distinctive approach to blending genres” (Grammy.com) TIERA KENNEDY releases her debut, full-length album ROOTED today (10/18) across all digital and streaming platforms.

Tiera Kennedy: Rooted - Album Out Now

The 11-track, Cameron Bedell-produced project features a collaboration with American Idol star Jordin Sparks, “Damn If He Don’t Love Me”, unapologetically authentic “Can’t Help My Country,” and bold new single “Keep Your Promises.” To celebrate the launch, the “young country star” (US Weekly) will bring the record to life with a string of release shows in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and New York – more information here.

“Through the rain and sunshine our roots grow stronger and stronger. We stand up a little taller. We shed our leaves just for them to grow back again at just the right moment even more beautiful than before,” shares Kennedy. “Rooted is a story of love, heartbreak, healing, and growth. It’s the ups and downs and everything in between and how my experiences good and bad have shaped me into the person I am today.”

Earlier this summer, the “rising country music star” (Good Morning America) released an anthemic track, “Cry” which samples the Timbaland produced Justin Timberlake mega-hit “Cry Me A River.” She performed the summertime bop on GMA3 (watch here), and it can also be heard in a series of McDonald’s advertisements (watch here). It followed the “tender, guitar-driven ballad” (HuffPost), “I Ain’t A Cowgirl” which Billboard dubbed “an aspirational ballad that lays out through thinly veiled Western metaphors her plan to succeed as a Black female country singer.”

The“emerging country artist” (CNN) with a “feather-light voice” (Business Insider) has received critical acclaim from The New York Times, Billboard, USA Today, Rolling Stone, and more for her work on Cowboy Carter. Having the honor of singing the poignant line on “Blackbiird,” “take these broken wings and learn to fly,” is rather serendipitous as the tune shares the same mentality of resilience and trusting the process that her upcoming project embodies. In case you missed it, watch Kennedy’s TV appearances with ABC’s Tamron Hall Show, CNN’s The Victor Blackwell Show and TMZ Live where host Harvey Levin ended the segment by saying, “she’s special, you can tell.
