Ro James Shares Video for ‘Too Much’ Featuring Miguel

Ro James has not given up on the promotional efforts for Mantic, the long-awaited follow-up to his Eldorado debut. The Germany-born singer has released the corresponding video for “Too Much” featuring Miguel.

The Daps-directed video sees James and Miguel busting wheelies and shifting gears in fast cars in forgotten semi-desert where beautiful women aren’t hard to spot amid their hijinks.

“Too Much” is the third song released from James’ 2020 album Mantic to receive an official music video. He previously shared visuals for “Last Time” and “Excuse Me.” The latter track marked his second top ten single on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, peaking at No. 10 in March 2019.

Mantic wouldn’t be released until the following year in May, boasting additional appearances besides Miguel from Brandy and Masego. Later in the year, James’ second full-length ranked at number two on Rated R&B’s 30 best R&B albums of 2020 list

Of Mantic, Rated R&B’s Keithan Samuels wrote, “Although Mantic flew under the radar commercially, it still adds to the seeds James has been planting over the years that will eventually bloom into the flowers he will receive in the future.”

James is currently gearing up to release new music after expressing disappointment with the rollout of Mantic since its release.

Last spring, Miguel shared the fourth installment to his Art Dealer Chic series. At the same time, he also made the three previous EPs available on streaming platforms for the first time. Miguel performed at a few festivals this year and joined Diplo for a new dance track titled “Don’t Forget My Love.”

Miguel’s last proper album was 2017’s War & Leisure. The 12-track album, issued on RCA Records, gained a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in January 2019. That fall, Miguel’s biggest War & Leisure single “Sky Walker” featuring Travis Scott was certified 3x multi-platinum, while the J Cole-featured “Come Through and Chill” achieved a platinum award.
