Review: The RoseCrumbs “Sunflower”

Rock

Rising new superstar Devon Gordon (The RoseCrumbs) has just released her orgasmic debut single “Sunflower” featuring world renowned  drummer Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction. The vibrant tapestry of melodic, psychedelic rock tickles the senses  like an exotic fragrance that puts you in touch with the spirit beyond yourself.

Spawned from the influences of grunge and classic rock, Devon Gordon, the brainchild behind the RoseCrumbs orchestrated this song including all instruments except the beats of Perkins’ drums. Stephen Perkins was quoted as saying regarding Devons music… “Bad ass, feminine apocalyptic rock. She’s created melodies with muscles and each part of her songs has teeth and bite.”

Devon Gordon comes from a musical background and is also an artist as well with experience in running galleries and exhibiting her art in pop-up galleries. She is a classically trained pianist and a multi-instrumentalist. Devon is currently a senior at the Pratt Institute and set to graduate with a BFA. She also founded a publication called “Noise Art Magazine” which features interviews from New York City college on music students.

“Sunflower” puts the fun back into rock. It’s loud, it’s explosive, it’s exquisite, while being intimate and personal. It has an anthemic flair and an addictive hook. It has a radio friendly essence and an underground sensibility. Her lyrics are aligned like a rope to cling and her vision is present in her music…..

4/5 Stars
