Emerging R&B boy band Pop Money has released their new single “Boys Don’t Cry” via Nick Cannon’s NCredible and Republic Records.
Co-produced by Cannon and Koncept, “Boys Don’t Cry” is a downcast ballad about a lost love. “When it’s raining I go / Outside / ‘Cause the rain will hide the tears in my eyes / And I know that boys don’t cry / Tears came down slowly / When she told me goodbye,” they croon.
“Boys Don’t Cry” arrives two weeks after their party-read bop “New Drip.” Troy Taylor co-wrote and co-produced the bouncy track with Justice Riley and Indigo Sane.
In March, the group released their debut single, “Love More.” The heartwarming song is an ode to finding an unshakable love. Taylor produced this track as well.
“The goal was to make a classic, smooth slow jam,” said Cameron of Pop Money. “The lyrics really bring you back to ’90s R&B in a way.”
Pop Money is expected to release their debut EP in the near future. This summer, they contributed to Metro Boomin Presents Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Soundtrack Deluxe Edition). They appear on the closing track, “Another Dimension.” It has more 8.6 million streams on Spotify at the time of publication.
