Rising R&B singer-songwriter Raiche has returned with her new single “Big Daddy” via GDE/Island Prolific/Atlantic Records.
It was co-produced by Cardiak (H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan) and Wu10 (Anthony Hamilton, Ari Lennox).
On the sultry groove, underscored by warm bass notes, Raiche enumerates the qualities she’s looking for in a future lover. While summer may be drifting away, Raiche’s soulful vocals paired with the song’s soothing production offer a comforting embrace for the upcoming cooler months.
Raiche says “Big Daddy” was inspired after wanting to feel sexy again after ending a relationship. “I’ve known so many close friends who’ve gotten out of bad relationships and wanted to feel lovable, sexy, and comfortable giving their trust to someone again,” explains Raiche. “Whether that means him picking a romantic restaurant, understanding my love language or simply putting me first… I’m looking for a ‘BIG DADDY’ who has what it takes.”
Raiche continues, “‘Big Daddy’ is one of one—it feels good and it’s authentically me. I had apprehensions about the term ‘Big Daddy’, but I redefined it, and it describes what I am looking for in a future partner. A real man who treats me well. Just that simple. I feel like ‘Big Daddy’ is intentionally sexy and sensual…yet still very classy.”
“Big Daddy” is Raiche’s first song release of the year. In 2022, she released two singles: “Feelings” and “Fool.”
Regarding the latter track, Raiche told Rated R&B: ‘Fool’ is simply an honest and heartfelt breakup song. I talk candidly about my needs and why this person was constantly coming up short for me and how I can’t put up with it anymore because I’d really just be playing myself.”
“Fool” was dubbed as the lead single from her debut album, Loveland. Raiche has yet to announce any changes regarding her first album, which was expected to drop last year.
In 2019, Raiche released her debut EP, Drive. It included popular tracks such as “Complicated” and “Money Pies.”
