R. Kelly Found Guilty In Sex Trafficking Trial In New York

R. Kelly has just been convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering, the New York Daily reports. He is facing decades in prison.

After beginning deliberations on Friday, the jury in a Brooklyn court found the R&B singer guilty on all counts on Monday (Sept. 27) including one count of racketeering and eight counts of violating the Mann Act, an anti- sex trafficking law.

Since August 18, prosecutors and 11 victims provided testimony against Kelly who has been accused of recruited young women, men, and underage girls for sex in exchange for a promising career in music.

In addition, Kelly is also facing more charges in the state of Illinois including child pornography as well as in Minnesota for prostitution with a minor and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Kelly’s sentencing in New York is schedule May 4.
