Psiryn Releases Debut EP ‘In the Key of Us’

R&B

Psiryn — the emerging R&B trio consisting of Anaya Chayenne, Jada Denise and Victoria McQueen — has delivered their debut EP,In the Key of Us.

The six-track offering, available via Kandi Burruss‘ Kandi Koated Entertainment, includes their No. 1 radio hit “Sober” and the Xscape-inspired “The Softest,” a reimagined version of the legendary group’s “Softest Place on Earth.”

Opening with “Next,” Psiryn wastes no time bidding farewell to a no-good lover. “I just made you right for the next chick / Messing up with me was your lesson,” they sing. The rest of the EP takes an emotional journey through the aftermath of a breakup. On “Wanted,” they sing, “Broken memories fall piece by piece / Now that you’re gone.”

Songs like “The Softest” and “Stressless” are steeped in sensuality, underscored by a sense of confidence. “I’ma make you stress-less / Body have you restless,” they coo in the latter track.

The closing track, “Cry for Me,” is a declaration to move on with life: “Ain’t no turning back now, it’s too late.”

Speaking on their new project, Psiryn states, “This body of work is for anyone learning how to love without losing themselves,” the group shares. “It’s soft, it’s strong, and it’s honest. In The Key of Us represents who we are, individually and together.”

After releasing several viral covers of classic R&B songs, including Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love,” Psiryn made their official introduction with “Sober” in July 2024.

The song, co-written and co-produced by Burruss, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in February. The rising trio made history, becoming the first female group to top the chart in nearly 23 years. Before that, Floetry was the last group/duo to reach the top of the summit.
