Poll: Which Metal Band Most Deserves To Be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

Metal

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame says they’re not biased against metal… but given the sheer number of notable metal bands they’ve snubbed over the years, that seems like a dubious claim.

And it doesn’t really matter — Bruce Dickinson has gone so far as to say that he wouldn’t let the Rock Hall induct Maiden even if they wanted to — but still. As a metal fan, it can be hard not to feel disrespected.

So let’s play a game. Pretend you can finally get one of these 28 iconic metal and hardcore bands — all of whom inarguably had an impact on the history of rock n’ roll — into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Who would you choose?

We limited the options to bands whose debut album was released at least 25 years ago, because those bands are actually currently eligible for induction (so we have a more few years before we can start screaming about System of a Down, Slipknot, and The Dillinger Escape Plan being snubbed).

We also tried to keep things semi-realistic… in other words, if Judas Priest are having a hard time making it in, Godflesh is pretty much fucked, even if they helped create industrial music as we know it today. On the other hand, there might be a world in which Cannibal Corpse’s t-shirt sales get whoever makes these decisions to take them seriously (for example).

And with that said… cast your vote below!
