Last year, we fucking gushed over T-Pain‘s rendition of the classic Black Sabbath tune “War Pigs.” It had live. It had charisma. Damn it, his version of the song just made you want to get up and dance. It was awesome.
Well, it turns out that the Prince of Darkness himself finally heard that version and he had nothing but glowing praise to heap upon the famous autotune-loving rapper. Talking about the track on his Twitter account, Ozzy reposted a live clip of T-Pain performing his “War Pigs” cover live, which also features the smooth, soulful vocals that the studio version had. Because don’t forget — T-Pain can actually sing.
Reacting to the 53 second clip, Ozzy said T-Pain’s version was “the best cover of ‘War Pigs’ ever” before asking why no one called him about the cover. Now, naturally someone had to clear T-Pain to do a cover of the song for a commercial release, but maybe Ozzy wants to collaborate? Who knows?
Naturally, this caused T-Pain to react in kind.
“You’re always invited. Top of the list, every time!! Thank you so much. Means a lot coming from the greatness himself.”
With Ozzy planning to release a new record this year, do you think we might get T-Pain on the follow up to Patient Number 9? Only time will tell but if it does pan out that way, the end result could be unfuckwithable.
