OVO Sound’s Naomi Sharon Announces Debut Album ‘Obsidian’

R&B

Emerging singer Naomi Sharon has announced her debut album, Obsidian, will release Oct. 20 via Drake’s OVO Sound.

According to the album’s tracklist, shared by Sharon, Obsidian will feature 13 tracks, including the bonus track “Hills,” released in 2021.

Obsidian is preceded by the singles “Another Life” and “Definition of Love.” The album’s next single, “Regardless,” is set to release Oct. 11.

“So you’ve been waiting for an album, right? Obsidian, October 20th she is yours,” Sharon wrote in an Instagram caption for the official album cover art and tracklist.

Sharon was announced as OVO Sound’s first woman signee in January, when she shared “Another Life” and the B-side, “Celestial.”

Drake wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post: “@naomisharon I been waiting for this day for too long now where the world finally gets to digest the insane amount of work you have put in since we met.”

Sharon’s labelmates include Dvsn, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Roy Woods and Majid Jordan, among others. Sharon recently collaborated with the latter R&B duo on their single, “Waiting For You.” The song was released Sept. 13 and has amassed over 2.2 million streams on Spotify.

Prior to signing with OVO Sound, Sharon released a handful of singles dating back to 2019’s “The Moon” and “Breeze.”
