Omarion Releases New Song ‘The Usual’

R&B

Omarion has released “The Usual,” a previously teased track from his upcoming album, Full Circle: Sonic Book Two.

On the track, which he co-wrote with Milton “MilTone” Adams, Omarion sings about protecting his peace from a toxic past lover who returns seeking a fix only to leave again.

Omarion chooses not to succumb to their advances through drunken text. “Yeah, I’m hitting delete / I don’t need your stress / Don’t need your energy / ‘Specially if you buzzed / Probably had too much,” he sings.

After teasing “The Usual” as a single earlier this month, Omarion premiered its official visualizer on YouTube ahead of its release to streaming services.

“The Usual” is the second offering from Omarion’s second full-length album of the year, Full Circle: Sonic Book Two. The album drops Dec. 15 on Omarion Worldwide imprint.

“The Usual” is the follow-up to the lead single “Taking Off” featuring rising R&B act BJRNCK.

Omarion released Sonic Book 1 in May, featuring “Big Vibez” and “Serious” as the standout tracks.

A viral hit, the latter, which has a music video, has gained positive traction across TikTok and music charts. It reached No. 1 on iTunes’ R&B/Soul Singles and Amazon R&B Best Sellers charts.

In support of his buzzing hit, Omarion visited the Tamron Hall Show to perform “Serious” and discuss his past and future during an interview.

Circling back to Full Circle: Sonic Book 1, Omarion had much to say about its intention.

“There aren’t many artists who can inspire positivity,” he shared in a previous statement. “Not many people can invoke that feeling of, ‘I feel good’ or ‘I want to do something with this.’ Through this project, I’m inspiring people.”

He added, “This is that full-circle moment of me coming back to a place where there’s power in my vulnerability. That’s what my music means to me at this time.”
