Nickelback Documentary Hate To Love Hitting Theaters Next Month

Metal

The guys in Nickelback have had both sides of the rock stardom coin. On one hand, they sell out stadiums and sell tons of albums to their legion of adoring fans around the world. On the other, however, they’ve been the butt of every dad rock butt rock joke almost since they burst onto the scene back in 2001. We now know that Chad Kroeger’s sick of that side of things, though it ultimately fueled the band.

It’s with all that in mind that today’s announcement of the band’s feature-length documentary Hate To Love: Nickelback making its way to theaters takes place. For two nights next month, the flick will be available for the general public to view. The news comes months after the film’s initial premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary covers all the hate the band’s gotten over the years and how that’s sort of changed their lives forever. From their start in Hanna, Alberta, Canada to the stadiums they regularly play, the film will cover it all and Nickelback are stoked to get it in front of everyone on March 27 and 30.

“We are very excited to finally bring this film to theatres this spring. It’s been a long road to get this project across the finish line and we must thank [producer] Ben Jones and [director] Leigh Brooks for all of their hard work. We hope everyone enjoys our story – fans, friends or otherwise.”

As for Jones and Brooks, the chance to have their documentary hit an even wider audience is equally exciting.

“We are both really excited to finally share this film with the fans around the world in such a huge and special theatrical event. We think their patience will be worth the wait. It’s been a huge personal journey for us both and we thank the band too for letting us dig a little deeper than they expected!”

You can check out the official trailer below. Tickets will go on sale on February 22.
