Muni Long has achieved a new top 10 hit on Billboard with “Superpowers.”

Her latest single rises from No. 11 to No. 10 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, currently led by Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” for a second week. The song debuted on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in late January at No. 28.

Notably, “Superpowers” is Long’s sixth top 10 hit out of her six entries on this chart. Two of her top 10s are No. 1 hits, including “Ruined Me” and “Make Me Forget.”

Here’s an overview of Muni Long’s top 10 hits on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart:

  • Ruined Me,” No. 1 for two weeks (2024)
  • Make Me Forget,” No. 1 for one week (2024)
  • Made For Me,” No. 2 peak (2023)
  • Hrs and Hrs,” No. 2 peak (2022)
  • Honey,” John Legend featuring Muni Long, No. 4 peak (2022)

“Superpowers” is the fourth single from Long’s sophomore album, Revenge, to reach top 10 status following “Ruined Me,” “Make Me Forget” and “Made For Me.”

She won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance at the 67th ceremony in February for the live version of the latter (“Made For Me – Live On BET”).

“Superpowers” is the opening track on Revenge. The stirring ballad, produced by Tricky Stewart and Ben Parris, interpolates Brian McKnight’s “The Only One For Me.”

Regarding the meaning behind “Superpowers,” Long explained to The Breakfast Club, “My superpower is detachment, like it really is. Now, in reference to the song, what I’m talking about is in every aspect of my life I’m super successful, so why not here in this relationship? That doesn’t just mean romantically; it could be family, you know, but why doesn’t my power work in this area? I really want this.”

In other news, Muni Long will be honored at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 ceremony. The event is scheduled for March 29 in Los Angeles.

Long will receive the Rising Star Award after having a breakout year. Other honorees include Erykah Badu (Icon Award), GloRilla (Powerhouse Award) and Meghan Trainer (Hitmaker Award), among others.
