Muni Long has hit a new peak at R&B radio. The Grammy winner’s new single, “Made For Me,” has advanced to the top spot, moving from No. 3 to No. 1 on this airplay format this week.
“Made For Me” pushes Usher’s latest hit, “Good Good,” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage, down to No. 3. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige’s “Still Believe In Love” featuring Vado holds at No. 2.
It’s Long’s first time topping R&B radio after achieving top five status twice in 2022 with John Legend’s “Honey” and her viral single “Hrs and Hrs.”
It’s worth noting that the latter love anthem hit No. 1 on urban radio in April 2022.
“Made For Me” reached top 10 on R&B radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in early November, scoring Long her third top 10 hit on both.
At the time of publication, “Made For Me” is No. 2 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Elsewhere on Billboard, the romantic tune has peaked at No. 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and No. 20 on the Hot R&B Songs chart.
“Made For Me” was released in September as Long’s first proper single in a year. She co-wrote the song with its producers Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jordan XL.
On Spotify, “Made For Me” has garnered more than two million streams on the streaming platform.
An official music video for “Made For Me” has not been released yet. However, it was teased that a visual featuring Luke James as the love interest will be coming soon. There is not much information available about it at the moment.
Prior to that, Long performed “Made For Me” with Dupri and Cox, accompanied by a choir, at the 2023 Soul Train Awards.
Long’s last project was 2021’s Public Displays of Affection: The Album. The LP was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
