Members of Protest the Hero, Dream Theater, Haken, etc. Cover Slayer’s “Seasons in the Abyss” for Christmas

Metal

Haken guitarist Charlie Griffith has put together a Christmas-themed cover of Slayer’s “Seasons in the Abyss.” Protest the Hero frontman Rody Walker sings on the track, while other musicians to appear include Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, The Absence/Inhuman Condition drummer Jeramie Kling, Cradle Of Filth bassist Daniel Firth, Haken drummer Ray Hearne (on tuba) and guitarist Dan Goldsworthy (My Minds Weapon).

Griffith commented:

“Injecting this song with some Christmas cheer worked better than any of us expected! Apparently Jeff Hanneman loved Christmas, so hopefully he would approve of our tribute and I hope we help to spread some musical merriment during yet another Christmas of uncertainty in the pandemic abyss. Thanks to all the guys for joining in with the fun and to Scott Atkins for mixing!”
