Maxwell to Headline Fireworks Finale at Hollywood Bowl

R&B

Maxwell is set to headline the Hollywood Bowl’s annual Fireworks Finale from Sept. 8 until Sept. 10 in Los Angeles, California.

The R&B legend is not on the bill alone. Rising singers Pink Sweat$, SiR, and Raveena are each slated to open for Maxwell on a select night.

Sweat$ will support his newly-released project, Volume 3, featuring his previously shared singles “Run Through Fire” and “Guitar.”

SiR’s setlist could include songs from his forthcoming album, including “Nothing Even Matters” and “Satisfaction.” This spring, his former track earned him his first top-10 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

In 2022, Raveena released Asha’s Awakening, the follow-up to 2021’s Lucid. The album included guest appearances from Vince Staples, TWEAKS and Asha Puthli.

Circling back to the Fireworks Finale, Maxwell confirms that this series of concerts is also part of his Trilogy shows that have been in rotation since 2022.

Maxwell recently performed a three-night summer residency dubbed, The Trilogy Show, at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.

The 3x Grammy winner has several show bookings this year, including a special guest appearance with Mariah Carey at the Hip Hop Forever concert on Sept. 15. Mary J. Blige and Tyrese are headlining.

Maxwell will embark on his Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise aboard the Norwegian Pearl in February 2024, following numerous other shows throughout the year.

Ledisi, Musiq Soulchild, Robert Glasper, Leela James, Sabrina Claudio and Gallant are set to perform on the four-night cruise. Get ticket information for the cruise, along with other Maxwell dates, on his official website.

Perhaps by then, Maxwell will have finally released blacksummers’NIGHT, the long-awaited third and final installment of his album series that began in July 2009. He teased its arrival in a recent post on social media.

In 2022, Maxwell reigned for two weeks on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “Off.” The bedroom jam is his eighth chart-topper on the list. It is expected to appear on NIGHT.
