Matt Cleare Releases New Song ‘4000!’

R&B

Matt Cleare doesn’t mind traveling a long distance to be with someone he desires, as evident in his new single “4000!”

“Two planes, 4000 miles / To test the will of pleasure, your natural design / A vacuum led to splendor, a flower turquoise and violet / Her body built from pleasure / Four trips, 4000 more miles,” he sings over a sunny acoustic guitar.

The emerging alternative R&B singer’s new track was produced by Teo Halm (Beyoncé, SZA, Ravyn Lenae).

“This is one of those songs that came together like a force of nature,” says Cleare. “It started in Teo’s home studio in West Hollywood. I took it back to Cartersville, Georgia, and dreamt to it, trying to decide how to finish the dreamy lo-fi demo it was at the time. I’d never made anything like it before.”

“4000!” is the lead single from Cleare’s forthcoming EP, Butterfly Twist. Cleare says the feel-good track “became the biggest contributing piece of DNA” for what would later become Butterfly Twist.

Cleare pairs his new release with an accompanying video directed by Jochi Saca, which can be viewed below.

The Miami, Florida, native’s upcoming EP will follow his 2020 project, Stuntman Diaries Reloaded.
