This holiday season, Masego and Devin Morrison are gathering around the table with their minds set on scarfing down “Yamz.”
This desirable jam, produced by Morrison and Michael Daniel Foster, a frequent collaborator of Masego, certainly has a retro sound that draws its savory chords and keys from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.
Depending on how you bite into this candied single, Masego and Morrison could be crooning about increasing their bank balances or the curves of a thick goddess.
The supporting video, directed by Mac Grant, might provide more insight into the song’s true meaning.
Ahead of releasing “Yamz,” Masgeo joined forces with Big Boi and JID for “Garden Party.” Prior to that, he released an extended version of his 2020 EP Studying Abroad.
Speaking of the deluxe edition, it received a 2022 Grammy Awards nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album. This nod marks Masego’s first.
