Mary J. Blige’s ‘For My Fans’ Concert Film Is Coming to Theaters

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, has announced her first concert film,Mary J. Blige: For My Fans, Live From Madison Square Garden, will play exclusively in theaters globally on Nov. 5 and Nov. 8.

The upcoming concert movie, produced by VEEPS Studio and Blige’s Blue Butterfly Productions, will be distributed in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing.

According to the logline, “The film features a deeply personal series of performances dedicated to the supporters who have been with her since the beginning. It showcases the essence of what this tour was – Blige performing a career-spanning setlist, paired with intimate storytelling and surprise guest appearances.”

For My Fans, Live From Madison Garden was filmed during Blige’s first-ever headlining show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, as part of herFor My Fans Tour in April. The movie will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Blige in her element.

“Playing Madison Square Garden was huge for me,” said Blige. “This is my home. Being able to share this moment globally with my fans, who can experience this together in a movie theater, is more special than I can put into words. Blige has always represented the heart and soul of New York, and her Madison Square Garden performance reflects that. We’re proud to share this historic hometown concert with audiences around the world through the magic of cinema.”

Tickets forMary J. Blige: For My Fans, Live at Madison Square Garden are on sale at maryjbligefilm.com. The film was directed by Kevin Garcia, with Blige serving as executive producer alongside LaTonya Blige-DaCosta, Kyle Heller and Sarah Minders.

Blige kicked off herFor My Fans Tour,with special guests Mario and Ne-Yo, in January. The tour, which supported Blige’s latest albumGratitude, visited major cities across North America before wrapping up in April.
