Mary J. Blige Will Perform at 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival: Update

R&B

It looks like fans will get to see Mary J. Blige perform at the 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival.

According to a new update from the Festival’s Instagram account, the R&B icon will remain on the lineup, despite a previous report.

“THE QUEEN OF R&B HERSELF, MARY J BLIGE! We can’t wait to see her perform in vegas,” the Festival wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. The caption was for a clip of Blige performing at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show, in which they tagged her.

Social media users flooded the comment section, citing Blige’s statement that she was mistakenly added to the lineup.

“I am beyond humbled by the response from all of you about the announcement of me on Lovers & Friends Festival,” Blige wrote on Instagram Stories, also shared on her Facebook page.

“Unfortunately my inclusion was an error as I will be in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later! I have the greatest fans in the world and can’t wait to see you in New York in a few short months!”

The Lovers & Friends Festival responded to fans in the comment section: “Yes she will be here! She took down the post. See you in Vegas,” they wrote. (Blige’s Instagram Stories and Facebook posts have since been removed.)

A revised flyer for the event was shared on the Festival’s official website. The new version shows Blige’s name at the top of the bill, alongside Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys, who was also moved up to the top.

The original flyer had Jackson, Usher and Backstreet Boys at the top.

The Lovers & Friends Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brandy, Monica, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, Tank, SWV and many more are slated to perform. Tickets are on sale at loversandfriendsfest.com.
