It’s always nice when a band wants the fans to be a part of the process. We’re here to show them love, and this is just one way they can seemingly reciprocate it. One band that’s ripping and roaring to do that is the Bay Area band Machine Head, who are set to film a live music video for their track “Outsider” at an upcoming performance.
To be specific, Machine Head is playing in San Antonio, Texas, on April 17 at The Aztec Theatre. “Outsider” is coming off their 11th album UNATØNED, which is set to come out on April 25 via Nuclear Blast/Imperium Recordings.
UNATØNED is described as “a testament to momentum, an album honed to its sharpest edge, forged on creative discipline and the hunger to push forward. It drips with melancholy melodies and yet hammers with bludgeoning riffs, soars with anthemic sing-alongs of love lost and sadness, to bellowing power and undeniable confidence. Eleven albums deep, Machine Head remain as fierce, relevant, and unstoppable as ever.”
The album was recorded at guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn’s Jam Room, Sharkbite Studios, and Drop of Sun Recording between July 2023 and December 2024. Flynn also helped produce the album along with Zack Ohren, who also engineered it. Colin Richardson and Chris Clancy of Audioworks, Ted Jensen and Justin Shturtz were, for the most part, responsible for the mixing and mastering, respectively. Seth Siro Anton has yet again handled the album artwork for them, as well.
In Flames, Lacuna Coil, and Unearth are along for the trek, so there’s a little something for everyone in a small sense. Honestly though, if you love heavy metal and might possibly find yourself in San Antonio next week, pop up. You might just end up a part of Machine Head’s visual history.
