Lucky Daye Releases New Song ‘Hericane’

R&B

Lucky Daye has shared his new single “Hericane,” produced by his longtime collaborator D’Mile.

Speaking on the track, Daye says “This song is about being grounded in a chaotic relationship. It’s important for people to be reminded that it’s a good time to be yourself and shine. Just be grounded and fierce in who you are.”

“Hericane” arrives with a live performance video, which can be viewed below.

Daye first teased “Hericane” in an Instagram post shared in mid-March. He posted a snippet of him vibing to the song while in a parking lot.

“Hericane” is the second song Daye has released from his upcoming third album. Last November, the Grammy winner released his soul-stirring single “That’s You,” co-produced by D’Mile and Bruno Mars.

“I sang my heart out on ‘That’s You,” stated Daye. “I felt like I was on the moon. I want people to think about that one person they just can’t be without when they listen. Hopefully, that person is a good person.”

“That’s You” debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart dated for Jan. 27. At the time of publication, “That’s You” is No. 17 on the Adult R&B Airplay.

Both “Hericane” and “That’s You” will appear on the follow-up to Daye’s 2022 album, CandydripThe album debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. Candydrip was ranked No. 1 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list. “Candydrip is a fitting album title; it serves savory tracks galore that can be placed at the forefront of any endcap, whether at a general store or a music shop,” wrote Jakori Beauchamp.
