Whichever direction a relationship takes, you have to know that you’ll be fine, no matter how painful it might be. LOONY is facing this harsh reality in her new song “either side.” It’s the third song from her upcoming album, Soft Thing, due June 17.
The serene track finds LOONY’s airy harmonies against brash drums, creating an ambiance of nostalgia. The lyrics add to the essence of the track, which discusses how she will be fine regardless of how the relationship ends.
Regarding the meaning behind the song, LOONY explained, “‘Either Side’ is wondering whether or not someone will come back to you, and trying to prepare yourself for either outcome.”
“There is comfort in remembering who you are, remember that you exist outside of your relationships, and turning back into your own peace,” LOONY added.
Before the release of “Either Side,” LOONY released the single “Royal Flush” featuring Mick Jenkins and “raw.”
