In the first verse, Durk opens up about the death of his friend, frequent collaborator and fellow Chicago native King Von, who was fatally shot in November 2020. Days after Von’s death, a graphic photo of his autopsy surfaced online, allegedly leaked by a mortuary worker.

“The autopsy of Von body had me coughin’ up my vomit,” Lil Durk shares on “Old Days.”

“I was takin’ so many pills, I was so high, I really abused it/Started sellin’ Percs, I turned around and started to use it,” he said. “Had to get a pacemaker, my heart was skippin’ deuces.”

In the song’s interlude, Lil Durk declares, “The streets over with,” adding, “It’s nothin’ left out here, bro.” He also sheds light on why he won’t use interviews to respond to any shots fired in his direction.
