LAYA isn’t here for the shenanigans. Her new single “F’d Up” echoes this sentiment.
Over a spirited production, helmed by Paul Chadwick Norman and ORA Sounds, LAYA tells off folks who continue to press her buttons.
Speaking on her new single, LAYA shares, “You ever have somebody try you? Tried you so hard and they ain’t even know what they was talking about? Sounds like they got you fucked up! And nah, nah it’s 2023 we not doing that this time. Time to put them haters on their back and tell ‘em quit with all that cap, because you got me… f****d up!”
“F’d Up” is LAYA’s first taste of music since releasing her debut EP, Um, Hello, in 2022 via Warner Records.
In an interview with Rated R&B, LAYA shared what she hoped listeners would take away from Um, Hello.
“I hope people feel inspired and motivated from this project and the whole story behind it — my whole story. I hope they realize that there is nothing out of grasp and that you can literally speak into existence what you want and manifest it,” she stated.
“There are a lot of motivational messages in my music. It’s R&B, but it’s not all about the bedroom or being in a club. It’s stuff you could play in a club, but it still motivates you on a different level and makes you proud of yourself.”
Um, Hello included popular tracks such as “Brag” featuring Fivio Foreign, “Crazy Down” and “Sailor Moon.” The latter song received an official remix featuring Baby Tate.
