During her show at The Wharf in D.C., kwn paused to express gratitude for the support she’s received over the past year. “I want to say thank you for changing my life,” she told the crowd. “I had no money. I was broke as hell. I could barely afford a takeaway for me to eat food. And just before that, I was working at Amazon doing deliveries.”
She continued, “Now I’m here, sold-out headline shows. I just want to say, without all you guys standing here today, I wouldn’t be here, and it means the world to me. I dreamed of this and I prayed for this for a very, very long time.”
Kwn’s touris named after her major-label debut EP,With All Due Respect, released June 20 via RCA Records. The nine-track offering is packed with standouts, including the Kehlani-assisted “Worst Behaviour” and lovers’ anthem “Back of the Club.”
