Kenyon Dixon Releases Video for ‘Slow Dancing’

R&B

Kenyon Dixon has released the official video for his new single “Slow Dancing” featuring Kincy.

The retro visual features Dixon chilling out and getting cozy with a foxy lady in a vintage pad with an in-house band. Other guests are also getting their groove, while Dixon and Kincy eventually link up for vibes.

Dixon released “Slow Dancing” to launch a new era. Rated R&B currently has the song on our playlists: Rated R&B (flagship) and New R&B

“This is one of the funnest records I’ve created so far and already one of my favorites,” Dixon stated of the new track. “My mission is always to reintroduce the R&B we love to today’s listeners in a way that they understand it can still be both current and quality.”

He continued, “Talk Box has always been like a secret R&B weapon to me when we’re talking undeniable classic elements. As soon as I started writing this record, I knew it would top it off and I knew exactly who to call that could deliver it in a perfect way.”

Kenyon Dixon Closer Deluxe album

Dixon’s last album, Closer, came out in 2022. He recruited the likes of D Smoke, Tiffany Gouché, Gwen Bunn and Susan Carol as contributing guests.

“I want people to fall in love with music again, and I mean, really love it. When you love music, the way we did, it came with a certain kind of support that we haven’t seen,” Dixon told Rated R&B what he wanted listeners to feel when they heard Closer.

“I think the lack of support that would be comparable to what we’ve seen is because people don’t feel connected to music anymore. They’re just hearing a bunch of songs. We’re not even getting albums, so it’s impossible for anything to be cohesive.”

Dixon expanded Closer as Closer (Deluxe) later that fall. It featured four additional tracks, including “Getting Late.”

Of the focus track, Dixon said, “It’s the perfect transition from summer into fall. It captures the nostalgia of the R&B we’ve always loved perfectly. Couple with that an innovative modern approach, allowing you to still showcase the progression of music overall and somehow it feels like the early 2000s all over again.”

The standard edition of Closer was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2022.
