R&B balladeer Kem keeps the romance burning in his new single “Rock With Me,” out now.
“We live in a strange world till the darkness falls forever / Baby, let’s be the dawn / When it feels like it’s taking over me / You’re making me stronger,” he sings on the Rex Rideout production.
Speaking on “Rock With Me,” Kem shares, “This one’s for the day-ones. For the ones who’ve been rocking with me through every note, every chapter. ‘Rock With Me’ is a return to love and to the sound that built this connection between us.”
“Rock With Me” is the follow-up to “Give My Love,” released July 25. It marked his first single under his label Kemistry Records since parting ways with Motown Records after 20 years.
“Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision of requesting that the label I’ve loved and called ‘home’ for more than two decades, release me from my contract, and Motown graciously granted my request,” Kem said in a statement.
He continued, “I have now returned to my Kemistry Records label, where my musical journey and my first album, Kemistry, were born. My move back to Kemistry Records is a return to everything I love and cherish about the music-making process. I’m returning to my musical roots and to my independence as an artist, a songwriter, and an entrepreneur. Most importantly, I’m returning to the ability to musically reach out and touch my fans in a more meaningful way.”
