Kaytranada has scored his second certification of the year from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“Intimidated,” featuring H.E.R., has been certified gold for selling over 500,000 equivalent units in the U.S. The electro-soul groove is the title track to Kaytranada’s 2021 EP.
Kaytrandada’s certification comes after receiving a gold award for “10%” featuring Kali Uchis. The Grammy-winning song appears on his Grammy-winning album, Bubba, which won Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album, respectively.
Overall, the Canadian producer/DJ has three RIAA certifications. He received his first award in May 2023 for “You’re The One” featuring Syd. The song is lifted from his 2016 album, 99.9%.
Circling back to Intimidated, the three-track set included features from Thundercat (“Be Careful”) and Mach-Hommy (“$payforhaiti”). His collaboration with H.E.R. earned him a nom for Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 65th Grammy Awards.
Speaking of the Grammys, Kaytranada is nominated in three categories at the 67th Grammy Awards, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025. His latest album, Timeless, is nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
His Childish Gambino-assisted “Witchy” is up for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. Then, there is his Best Remixed Recording for rappers Doechii and JT’s “Alter Ego.”
