Timberlake’s tour news comes on the heels of releasing his single “Selfish,” the first offering from his sixth album, Everything I Thought It Was, out March 15 on RCA Records.

Timberlake told Zane Lowe of Apple Music that “Selfish” was inspired by Donny Hathway’s cover of “Jealous Guy” by John Lennon.

“We were talking about the song itself and just breaking down the idea that you just don’t hear that from men often that they would express an emotion that makes them vulnerable,” Timberlake said. “Growing up the way I grew up, you’re kind of taught not to do that, you know? It just felt like a really honest song. The lyrics just started to come out honestly.”

Everything I Thought It Was will follow 2018’s Man of the Woods, which bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
