Josh Levi Covers Boyz II Men’s ‘Let It Snow’

R&B

Josh Levi is spreading holiday joy this season with his cover of “Let It Snow,” penned by Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men and Brian McKnight.

On Levi’s cover, he not only aims to dazzle traditionalists who cherish the original version but also expresses gratitude to the person who introduced “Let It Snow” to him years ago.

Levi explains to Rated R&B,” ‘Let It Snow’ was my dad’s favorite growing up, and this version went platinum in my household. He used to always put the Black versions of Christmas songs on, and now I can appreciate and be grateful that he did. Boyz II Men also happens to be my favorite group ever.”

Released in 1993, the heartfelt tune was initially a hit for Boyz II Men and featured on their 2x platinum holiday album, Christmas Interpretations. It was a top 10 hit on the R&B charts and held the No. 32 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Levi’s version of “Let It Snow” comes after his viral TikTok Halloween performance as Chuck E. Cheese, using audio from his recent track “Birthday Dance.” As of today, nearly 10,000 videos have been created on the platform using the song.

“Birthday Dance” appears on Levi’s DISC TWO (SCRATCHED UP), an expanded version of his 2022 EP. Scratched Up included new tracks such as “EGO” and “See Low.” In August, Levi updated the former of the pair with producer ESTA.

This fall, Levi had plans to take DISC TWO (SCRATCHED UP) on the road. However, he had to postpone the run of shows due to an unforeseen opportunity. No new dates have been announced at this time.
