Jade Novah Shares New Album ‘Where Have I Been?’

R&B

Jade Novah has returned with her third album, Where Have I Been?

In the hour-long set, Novah invites listeners into her introspective world, where she embarks on a soul-searching voyage. The 24-track album is threaded with dramatized interludes that help add nuance to the overarching story.

“It’s a concept album that feels like a storytelling podcast and a contemporary R&B album rolled into one,” Novah explains. “Where Have I Been? is a love language origin story that takes you on a journey from my childhood to the current inner child work that I have to actively do in order to let go of the old programming from my past that no longer serves me.”

Where Have I Been? includes all the tracks from Novah’s Moon in Pisces EP — “Trip,” “Lost in You,” “Rollercoaster” featuring Kenyon Dixon, “Who Are You,” “The Silence” and “I Just Wanna Know” — plus the previously shared “Affirm Me,” “Butterfly,” “Like That” and “What’s Your Sign?”

The album features additional appearances from Leslie Odom, Jr., Wayne Brady, Tabitha Brown, Gail Bean, Tony Baker and Tarriona “Tank” Ball.

Where Have I Been? is the follow-up to Novah’s 2020 sophomore album, StagesThe project included features from Eric Bellinger and Jared Brady.
