Jacquees is back in his remix bag. The R&B singer has shared a video for his Quemix of Coco Jones’ hit single “ICU.”
After shouting out Jones and expressing love for the record, Jacquees pours his heart out like his emotions are on his sleeve. He sings about being less of a playboy and more of a gentleman to his interest.
“Never thought that I would find somebody / As sweet as you / Whoever knew / It could be me and you,” Jacquees sings over the Camper-produced backdrop. “You love when I put my hands on your body / But it’s more than sex / You heaven sent.”
“ICU” appears on Jones’ debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, released last fall. Since then, the song has entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart and cracked the top 10 on the urban radio chart, making it her first feat on each.
“ICU (Quemix)” is Jacquees’ first remix of the year. He last committed to this popular wave with his 2021 QueMix 4 mixtape.
QueMix 4, released on his 27th birthday, featured updated versions of R&B classics from Usher (“Can U Handle It”) and Jon B. (“They Don’t Know”), as well as then-current tracks from Jazmine Sullivan and Ari Lennox (“On It”) and melodic rapper Mooksi’s (“Track Star”).
Jacquees’ last album, Sincerely For You, dropped in November 2022 via Cash Money Records. Rap star Future served as the album’s executive producer.
Sincerely For You included the singles “Say Yea” and “Tipsy.” In addition to Future, Summer Walker, 6LACK, Future, 21 Savage, John P. Kee and Tory Lanez also made guest appearances.
Sincerely For You debuted at No. 20 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and opened at No. 163 on the Billboard 200.
Jacquees kept the album’s promotional campaign going with an official video for “When You Bad Like That” featuring Future.
Up next for Jacquees is an appearance at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash. The event is scheduled to take place at the State Farm Arena on June 17 in Atlanta, Georgia.
