J. Valentine Releases New Song ‘Before the Streets’

R&B

J. Valentine has returned with his new single “Before The Streets,” which he co-wrote with the song’s producer Shawn Holmes and Feather.

“Before The Streets” delicately speaks to a floating woman who hasn’t received the attention she deserves from a man. J. Valentine wants to reset her mind with positive appreciation before she goes down a slippery slope.

“We made this song because nobody really wants to be ‘outside,’” he exclusively tells Rated R&B.

Prior to releasing “Before The Streets” to streaming services, J. Valentine unveiled the official music video.

In the TAJ-directed visual, J. Valentine receives some eye-opening knowledge about a woman he previously thought was innocent.

“Before The Streets” is the second single from J. Valentine’s long-awaited debut album, Conversations With Women, set to arrive on R&B Money.

His previous single, “Thank Me For That,” was released Nov. 24, 2023. He co-wrote the song with Shawn Holmes, Feather, and Daniel Morris.

Conversations with Women will be J. Valentine’s first music collection since Love & Other Drugs in 2012. The EP features seven tracks with appearances from Chris Brown, LeToya Luckett, Tank, and more.

Last spring, J. Valentine made a special appearance on New Edition’s Legacy Tour as a guest on Tank’s set.

During the show, they performed their hit single “Slow,” which is featured on Tank’s latest album, named R&B Money. This sensual song topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart for two weeks.

Prior to that, Tank and J. Valentine, also co-hosts of the R&B Money Podcast, performed “Slow” at the 2022 Soul Train Awards
