Health and Poppy Team Up on New Song, “Dead Flowers”

Metal

Electro-rock outfit Health are all about those collaborations lately, having teamed up on new tracks with both Nine Inch Nails and Deftones’ Chino Moreno this year alone, not to mention all the killer combos on last year’s full-length album. Now they’re back with another mix-and-match track, enlisting cross-genre star Poppy for a haunting new song called “Dead Flowers.”

Asked to comment on the track for official press release purposes, Health gave perhaps the best response ever:

“Every time we release a new track we get asked to give a quote about it. Truthfully, I’m not sure it makes much of a difference.”

As someone who copies and pastes such quotes over and over again every damn day, A-fucking-men! And without any words from Poppy, that’ll have to stand as all we get.

“Dead Flowers” will appear on the forthcoming Health album DISCO4 :: PART II, the sequel to DISCO4 :: PART I, the latter of which featured collaborations with 100 gecs, JPEGMAFIA, Soccer Mommy, Full of Hell, Ghostemane and more. The Nine Inch Nails collab will also appear on the new album, but it’s unclear from press copy if the track with Chino will also.

Poppy just put out a new record of her own, Flux. Jam it here.
