Hawkwind fans, get ready for the ultimate Space Ritual Box set. Even for a band as jammy as Hawkind, 11 discs is quite a lot.
The new set will be released via Cherry Red and Atomhenge on September 29. On the day of release, they’ll be celebrating their 50th anniversary of the 1973 album with a show at Royal Albert Hall in London.
The box set includes a remastered version of Space Ritual, new mixes of live recordings, a 5.1 surround sound mix and new stereo mix of the album, and and unedited versions of songs.
In addition to the music, the set contains a 68-page booklet featuring a new essay, a poster, and an old tour program.
The band are also re-pressing the album via double clear vinyl through Abbey Road studios.
