Godflesh Dropped the First Single of Their Upcoming Album Purge

Metal

Last month, we were insanely stoked to share the news with all of you that industrial metal badasses Godflesh were putting out a new album titled Purge this June. It’s going to be their first new studio release since 2017’s Post Self and a welcome return for fans everywhere.

Well it turns out they’re ready to give people a listen at what exactly they’ve been working on over the years, as Godflesh released a track titled “Nero” seemingly exclusively on Bandcamp. But where you can find it shouldn’t matter in the slightest because it’s Godflesh. Not only that, but new Godflesh. What a day.

Speaking about the track, Godflesh’s Justin K. Broadrick said it reflected on mankind’s destructive tendencies with itself, while also pointing to the three additional remixes of the song that are also available on Bandcamp.

“Nero, as a symbol and reminder of irresponsible self destruction as being practiced always, now and forever. In classic Godflesh tradition, three self reinterpretations are presented, to display the many sides of the same coin.”

If you’re interested in a little 2023 Godflesh, be sure to check out the track below. And don’t forget that they’re planning on heading out on tour this summer. Be sure to check out the tour dates below to see if they’ll be in your area.
