Ghost Tease New 2025 Papa on a Las Vegas Billboard: Papa V Perpetua

Metal

Ghost are showmen for sure. The pageantry, the drama, the pomp—they’re really out here putting on a whole ass production in the best way. It seems now it’s time to retire part of the production and trade it in for another. A new Papa is upon us, and his name is Papa V Perpetua.

They posted a billboard in Las Vegas about the new character, saying “V is coming….” I’ve never heard of this, which I guess isn’t surprising, but the band launched a “FumataCast” YouTube live stream that features the billboard. I imagine that means that at some point, the billboard will change? At the time of me writing this, it’s been running for about 15 hours, so it’s probably going to shift in some way eventually.

The new Papa’s name swirled around the ether after it was listed as one of the performers at Black Sabbath’s final concert (July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom). Ghost confirmed it on social media by simply saying, “We wish to inform you V is coming… To Birmingham on July 5th.”

Honestly, no matter how Tobias Forge—the man behind all the Papa—presents himself, it’s guaranteed to be just as entertaining as the last. How could it not be? Ghost know what they’re doing for sure.
