New York City mathgrind trio Thin are back with their latest release, The Overlapping Nature of Things. A fast and brutal EP, Thin use the six songs to traverse new sonic territory with the same frantic energy. In addition to the core of technical grind, the trio pull from death metal, screamo and sharp noise rock, making sure that The Overlapping Nature of Things never sounds the same for too long.
“The Overlapping Nature of Things traverses grindcore, screamo, death metal, and noise rock over a span of six quick tracks, while dealing with topics of introspection, self-doubt, anxiety, and helplessness, The EP was tracked at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ, by Scot Moriarty, who also mixed and mastered the record. This latest effort features a new rhythm section, with Niko Hasapopoulos (Semaphore, Primordial Ooze) on bass, and Hunter Johnson (Terror Cell, Charger Port) on drums. The EP is now available for pre-order (vinyl and digital) on bandcamp, courtesy of Learning Curve Records.”
If you’ve got nine minutes, take The Overlapping Nature of Things for a spin. There’s bound to be something for everyone.
