Does your metal lack in the almighty groove? Canada’s Metaphora has the riffs to fix your broken heart.
Throw Pantera, Periphery and Jinjer in a blender and you get Atlantic Canada’s newest melodic metal export, comprised of past and current members of scene staples Sons of An Eastern Moon, Sea Dogs, Last Soul Down, Ascend The Throne, Monolithic Sorceror, Oceans End, Women of Rock, Uneeda and Devastator, among others.
The five-piece melodic metal band from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada consists of Alexis Dolomont (Vocals), Dave Saunders and Alex Wells (Guitars), Cory Fagan (Bass), and Jeff Devereaux (Drums).
Decibel is proud to premiere their debut, self-titled EP in full:
The quintet formed in the months leading up to the COVID pandemic, with Alex and Dave crafting hard-hitting and inventive material. The foundation of the band was set with the addition of local scene staples Cory and Jeff and powerhouse vocalist Alexis.
Songwriting for their layered and intense debut EP tackled themes centred around the conflict and struggles of humanity, from ancient history to modern times. Metaphora’s collective influences cover a range of artists in the heavy music space, from Pantera and Periphery to Pearl Jam, Death, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Polyphia and more.
