Full Album Stream: Music in Low Frequencies – ‘Catharsis’

Metal

At one point several years ago, Portuguese death-doom trio Music in Low Frequencies went by the unfortunate acronym of M.I.L.F., which was either a “lost in translation” sort of thing, or just a serious lapse of judgement. The current moniker is more apropos for an outfit that’s definitely mining darker, heavier musical territory on their latest full-length, Catharsis. This is Music in Low Frequencies’ first new batch of material since their 2014 debut, Sowing the Seed. It’s a seven track affair heavy on the doom side, with some post-metal touches, as well.

It’s set for release on December 8 via Raging Planet on CD and digitally, and you can place your preorder here.

This is what the band had to say about its latest effort:

“This album is the result of a period of darkness, reflection, contemplation of the soul and purgation of the spirits, and it hopes to embrace all the heavy spirits we have within our minds and put them to rest. Catharsis wishes to indulge all the senses whatsoever, and purge all the demons we carry through our music.”
