Dödsrit really is a special band. No one really sounds quite like them. Oh sure, plenty of bands combine various elements of black metal, doom metal and heroic guitar melodies, but not quite like this. Few bands weave melancholy and triumph so seamlessly as these guys. And that particular form of musical alchemy is especially evident on the band’s latest album, Nocturnal Will. And it’s for that reason that Decibel is proud to present the album streaming in full today. The album has thunderous moments of raging guitars and drums, along with almost serene passages of dual-harmonies and mournful vocals. It’s all there, and it’s all incredibly captivating to the listener.
According to the band:
“It is with the utmost pride that we share these mournful hymns of archaic strength and heroic bloodshed with you all today. Despite it being 3 years between the release of Nocturnal Will and Mortal Coil, we feel this release is a natural progression and a representation of our growth both as a band and as individuals. We want to thank everyone that has been with us on this journey filled with grief, rejoice and catharsis, as we embark into a new chapter. So, let’s raise our swords and chalices under the banner of vengeance, as we kindle the nocturnal fire beyond the burning ember and the smothering ash!
Nocturnal Will comes out this Friday on CD, vinyl, and cassette via Wolves of Hades. You can find pre-order information here. Stream the album in full below:
