F*ck Jon Schaffer and His Politically Motivated Comeback Project

Metal

We all knew this day was coming, so let’s just get it over with. The MAGA-chud turned stool pigeon and former Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer is trying to gallop-riff his way to a comeback.

And given the current political climate, it might be successful enough to land him on a Kid Rock tour something like that. You know, despite the fact that he sided with a mob of insurrectionists that tried to interrupt the peaceful transition of power in 2020 because their pedo president lost to a shambling corpse.

According to Traitor McFuckface, he’s putting out a sort of reimagining of some songs from his politically-charged Sons Of Liberty project. Naturally, the album is going to be called Thought Crimes (Volumes 1 & 2) because I guess his being jailed for storming the Capitol was some form of Orwellian tyranny and not exactly what he deserved. (Also, Queensryche did it better.) This new set of old songs will include remixed versions of said old songs, while also including new live drum tracks from ex-Iced Earth drummer Mark Prator.

Oh and it’s being released on July 4, because of course it is. Dude loves his country so much he’s willing to bear mace a buncha cops because his god-king told him to. He has a lengthy statement online that other outlets will surely share, but I’m good. You can read it if you want, but it’s a lot of “the system has tried to silence and cancel this music” bloviating. Instead, I’ll offer what the press release says about the project.

‘What sets Sons of Liberty – Thought Crimes (Volumes 1 & 2) apart is its transcendence of partisan divides. This is not an echo chamber of political agendas; it’s a universal wake-up call, championing freedom as the bedrock of peace and prosperity for every person on the planet. In a world fractured by division, Schaffer‘s lyrics rally for pro-freedom/pro-humanity ideals: anti-authoritarian, non-partisan, and rooted in the unyielding principles of liberty.

“It’s a reminder that true empowerment comes from questioning and resisting systems that promote aggression and erode our shared dignity, fostering unity through principles of liberty, individual sovereignty, and collective resilience.”

What none of the press information touches on is the fact that Schaffer is a criminal that was initially hit with the following six federal charges:

  • “Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority”
  • “Disrupting the Orderly Conduct of Government Business”
  • “Knowingly Engages in an Act of Physical Violence Against any Person or Property in any Restricted Building or Grounds”
  • “Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building”
  • “Engage in an Act of Physical Violence in a Capitol Building”
  • “Parade, Demonstrate, or Picket in a Capitol Building”

Had he not been pardoned by El Cheeto Supremo, Schaffer would be in jail thinking about how running through D.C. with the Oath Keepers and all the other alt-right insurrectionist scumbags might not have been the best idea. Then again, he also turned chicken and ratted out his friends, so his sentence ended up not being that bad at all — just three years probation and a $2,200 slap on the wrist.

This is the last I’m gonna willfully talk about Schaffer and his attempt at rehabilitating his image unless he does something super crazy or egregious. He’s literally just rehashing old music anyway, so whatever.
