Elijah Blake Releases New Song ‘Ghostbuster’

R&B

Elijah Blake has returned with his new single “Ghostbuster” via MNRK Music Group.

In the somber ballad, Blake croons about being down on love. “Can’t get you out of my head / Out of my brain / Chasing after love that I know has been dead / You’re just a ghost of my past / That keeps coming back,” he sings.

“With ‘Ghostbuster,’ I wanted to create a sonic and visual journey that transcends boundaries, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in a hauntingly beautiful experience,” explains Blake. “It’s a blend of my musical roots with a modern twist, and I’m thrilled to share this artistic expression with the world.”

“Ghostbuster” is the first single from Blake’s forthcoming album that’s due this June.

Last year, he released an EP, Chateau Lane, which featured Jordin Sparks, RMR and Finn Matthews.

In 2021, Blake released his album The Neon EonThe 10-track project included features from Keyshia Cole (“Bad Liar – Remix“), Tamar Braxton, Trinidad James (“Dreams“), Durand Bernarr, Muni Long, D Smoke, Rome Flynn and BOPPAPI.

D Smoke, Bernarr and Long appear on “Dark Skin,” which Blake described as “unapologetically lifting up all shades of chocolate.” He added, “D Smoke puts the icing on top with his poetic approach to rap that I’m a huge fan of, I love Durand’s subtle but undeniable presence throughout this record, and I felt it very important to have Muni Long on this record, a Black Queen who’s perspective is so important.”

Regarding the album, Blake shared, “The Neon Eon is the death of sub-genres and the birth of One Genre that encompasses all sound and culture that is no longer limited by color, background or gender. It’s the most fun I’ve had on a project lyrically, melodically and conceptually.”

Later this year, Blake’s EP Drift will turn 10. The eight-track offering includes his J. Cole-assisted track “Vendetta.”
