Ebony Riley Taps Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox for ‘Mirror’

R&B

Emerging R&B singer Ebony Riley has released her new single “Mirror.”

On the reflective track, co-written and produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, Riley embraces self-love and contemplates the love she truly deserves.

“I’m holding on for the better I need something special / I gotta love all of me / I gotta love all of me first / My only problem is I’m so addicted to hurt / But I dare pray for my reflection / As I fail at loving myself / It’s like I’m chasing the wind and never facing then it’s going nowhere,” she sings.

“Mirror” is yet another instance of Riley’s unabashed vulnerability in her music. Her 2023 debut EP, ebony, ripples with diaristic songs such as the closing track, “Save Me.”

“I’m addressing a lot of stuff that I’ve been pushing off for years,” Riley told Rated R&B about her EP. “It’s kinda liberating to be OK with sharing parts of me that I know so many other people are going through as well but may be scared/ashamed to speak on.”

“Mirror” marks the beginning of a new era for the model-turned-singer. According to press materials, Riley’s upcoming debut album is “full of variety, nostalgia and personal experiences.”
