Durand Bernarr Announces New Album ‘Bloom,’ Shares Tracklist

R&B

Durand Bernarr will release his third album, BLOOM, Tuesday, Feb. 18, via Create Music Group.

The Grammy-nominated singer announced the news in a promotional trailer, which co-stars Kid Fury of The Read podcast.

The two-minute clip shows Bernarr in a therapy session with Fury, who plays his therapist. During the session, Fury advises Bernarr to give himself grace before reminding him that “overqualified means that you have a lot to offer.”

While Fury is speaking, Bernarr has an epiphany about a concept for a project. “I could put together an album but a specific kind of album — a love album,” Bernarr says. “I think that’s what we’re lacking. They’re lacking self-love. We need love. We need to have specific kind though outside of talking about love for ourselves. We need to be talking about love for our community, for the people in our lives that are really there for us.”

He continues, “We’re going to meet each other where we are, and so that’s what I need to do. I need to meet them where they are and I can meet them where they are musically.”

According to press materials, the album “delves into love beyond romantic intimacy, unfolding as a profound narrative of self-discovery, growth, friendship, community, accountability, and the freedom to cultivate spaces where love can truly flourish.”

BLOOM is preceded by the lead single, “Impact,” which was dropped ahead of the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The 15-track album features collaborations with T-Pain and emerging R&B duo GAWD. Bernarr made a cameo on the latter group’s Cathedral City Supreme (“Dur&’s Innerlude”).

BLOOM follows Bernarr’s Grammy-nominated EP, En Route, which was up for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 67th Grammys. The interim project included songs like the Louis York-produced “Unknown” and Free Nationals-assisted “Fist Bump.”

Bernarr released his second album, Wanderlustin 2022. The album featured collaborations with Devin Lacy and Just Liv.

Before that, he released his debut LP, DUR& in 2020. It included the fan-favorite “STUCK.” featuring Ari Lennox plus the KAYTRANADA-produced “Volume.”
